Training

Eragon went with Arya to Esmerella which is the city of elves. He did extensive training on hand to hand combat and with magic so that if he ran out of power he could protect himself without Saphira's help. In Esmerella he was taught by another dragon rider whose dragon only had one leg so he couldn't fight anymore so he is just the wise old elf of the city and he gives help were it is need. His dragon only had three legs but it could beat Eragon's dragon in only a few seconds because it had ability and knowledge.

The four languages of Eldest

In the book there are four languages including old english. The other three are the Ancient, the Dwarf, and the Urgal language. All of the names of the creatures and cities in the book originate from these languages. One example is Zaroc which means dragon slayer ab brisngr which stands for fire. Both of these are examples of the Ancient language.

Summary of the battle for Farthendur

Before the battle all of the warriors armored up and they dug tunnels so that they could surprise the enemy and they made armor for Saphira and Eragon so that they could stay safe from arrows and swords. They also filled pits of water with oil to set fire to so they could have an advantage. When the battle started the army of Galvatorix broke through the tunnels and killed all the men in them and surrounded them but the oil pits turned the tables when they were lit. And at last Durza showed up on a dragon made up of pure darkness but Eragon and Saphira over-powered him and erago killed himm with the sword called Razoc which means dragon slayer.

Summary of Roran's story

Roran's story started off in the town where his uncle was murded by Ra'zac. After murdering their uncle the Ra'zac returned to the town and began looking fo Roran because he is Eragon's brother and Eragon is a big threat to Galvatorix and he wants both of them eliminated so he can continue to rule with no interuptions. So Galvatorix sent the Ra'zac to eliminate Roran so that Eragon might return to the town. Roran doesn't have powers or a dragon but he does have alot of frinds that help him.

Summary of Eragon's story

In this book i think it teaches a lesson about just keep trying and never give up because even when they didn't think they would when, they either killed a slade or successfully escaped from a deadly predator.Throughout the story Eragon and Saphira become stronger and stronger with every day and with every fight. Eragon learns a whole lot of magic and Saphira figures out that she has powers of her own. When they were in Farthendur, a secret rebel society hidden in the mountains, Saphira and Eragon fight with Orik who is a dwarf and together with armor from Farthendur they successfully kill the shade Durza and the only way to kill a shade is to stab it through the heart.
Pages 550-668
These are the last chapters and throughout them there are all kinds of language but there is two main points that come up at the end. Number one is that Roran and Eragon end up on the same battlefield and it appears to be a coincidence. Number two Murtagh shows up and he has a dragon of his own and Eragon is not surprised at the fact that he has a dragon. He is surprised that he is alive because in the thirteenth chapter murtagh is presumed to be dead and the twins as well. There is a simile on page 566 and it says "...making the ship look ike nothing more than a giant water strider. It is comparing the ship to a bug that floats on the water with a lot of legs.
Pages 470-549
In the chapter Teirm that is where Roran ended up after coming from Narda. Roran kept on heading to Teirm even though he knew it might be a trap to capture them and turn them into the king and hope that they get rewarded for their good deed even though it was not so good. They had come to Teirm to see Jeod Longshanks. There is no literary language in these chapters but there is some sarcasm and even those examples are vague.
Pages 370-469
These eight chapters cross between the stories of Eragon and Roran. Their two stories have very little difference between them. One thing that is the same is that they both are training to fight magical creatures. Another is that they are both becoming stronger every day as they train. One difference is Eragon is fighting many kinds of creatures and Roran is only fighting the Ra'zac. Another difference is eragon has a dragon to help and Roran only has as many friends as he makes and as many enemies as he makes too. The last difference is that Eragon can do magic.
Pages 285-369
All of the pages that are included are all about Eragon's training and on page 285 Eragon and saphira, Eragon's dragon, here of another dragon and that is the last thing they wanted to hear when training but they were excited because a new dragon meant a new opponent that they could fight an destroy. Also on page 285 there is an example of personification and that quote says "But stronger than her words were the emotions Eragon sensed roiling within her..." This means that emotions are given the ability to roil and that is only done by animate objects. To roil is to mix or turn turbulently.
Pages 190-284
This chapter is about Roran, Eragon's brother, who finally comes close enough to finally find out who it is that tries to kill him and he starts to think of the way he is going to get out of his situation. In this chapter his is also badly wounded by Ra'zac which is a cross of a man and a bird and the evil kind Galvatorix is in charge of them. Roran makes that exact connection and starts to wonder why he wants him dead.
Pages 111-189
There is an exaggeration on page 111 and it is "The dawnless morning found Eragon in Undin's main hall, listening as the clan chief spoke to Orik in Dwarvish. This is an exaggeration because you can't have a dawnless morning because the sun always comes up. In these chapters the tone is sad because even though it has been a long time, they were still dealing with the death of a leader but they were happy they were getting a new one. It is ironic that their new leader is the older ones daughter. Eragon said that he would agree to be the new leaders vassal.
Pages 46-110
The dialog in these few chapters is formal because in most of the book the characters are speaking to figures of power and usually when you do that you speak formally. In these chapters there is an example of symbolism and that is when Zar'roc is a symbol of blood and death to everyone. This book is fictional because there is talking dragons and there is magic so that wakes it fictional. "He felt as if he were tumbling into their fiery depths..." This is an example of hyperbole because he said he would fall into the fiery depths of hell. Another example of a hyperbole is "He could sense her emotions boiling with as much turmoil as his. This is an example because your emotions can't boil so that is an exaggeration on page 67.
Pages 1-45
There is an exampleof imagery on the first page of the book. "So thought Eragon as he stepped over a twisted and hacked Urgal, listening to the keening of women who removed loved ones from the blood-muddied ground off Farthen Dur." This is a reperesentation of sight because you can picture the women crying and you can also picture the ground drenched in blood. It also is an example of sound because you can hear the women crying. An example of a onomatopoeia is on page twenty five. "Her polished claws clicked on the hard floor." This is an example of onomatopoeia because of the word clicked which represents a sound.
